From the Provincial Minister
My dear sisters and brothers,
St. Francis was formed in wartime, even serving as a soldier. He suffered as a prisoner of war. During this time, Francis reflected on his purpose and place in the world. Eventually, he would have a conversion experience that led to a drastically different way of life. He would leave his old life of wealth and comfort and turn toward Jesus, walking with those experiencing suffering, illness and poverty.
During these times, pray for those who suffer. Let us share what we can with those in need to ease their suffering. And let us keep our hearts always open to the way of justice, peace and fraternity as we strive to model St. Francis and be instruments of peace in this broken world.
Peace and all good,
Br. Mark Joseph Costello, OFM Capuchin
Provincial Minister
