Friars ordained to the priesthood
The Province congratulates two friars, Br. Baudry Metangmo and Br. Alwin Anthonysamy. Br. Baudry was ordained to the priesthood by Most Rev. Jerome Feudjio, Bishop of St. Thomas (U.S. Virgin Islands) in January at a Mass of Ordination at St. Lawrence Seminary Chapel in Mount Calvary, Wisconsin. The Rite of Ordination was livestreamed.
Br. Alwin was ordained in Tamil Nadu, India in a Rite of Ordination that was livestreamed and can be viewed on the Capuchin Amala Annai Province YouTube channel.

Providing life-saving cold weather ministry
With frigid temperatures this past winter, the St. Ben’s Community Meal program of Capuchin Community Services activated its seasonal winter warming shelter from December through the end of March. The nightly shelter provides space for 40 men and 20 women all winter long.

Capuchin Soup Kitchen sees elevated need
In 2024, the Capuchin Soup Kitchen served an average of about 1,000 meals per day at its two kitchen sites. At the Capuchin Services Center food pantry and clothing distribution center, nearly 3.4 million pounds of food were distributed, an increase of 24 percent over the prior year.

St. Francis Xavier Church Completes Renovations
Built in 1888, the historic St. Francis Xavier Church in Montana was restored recently thanks to generous benefactors and a match from the National Fund for Sacred Places and will continue to serve generations of families on the Crow Reservation in southeast Montana.
