From the Provincial Minister
My dear sisters and brothers in Christ,
We are in the midst of a series of centennials marking significant moments in the life of St. Francis of Assisi. Last Christmas, we marked 800 years since St. Francis' Nativity scene was displayed at Greccio in central Italy. In September 2024, we celebrated 800 years since St. Francis received the sacred wounds of Christ. And in 2026 we will mark 800 years from Francis’ death. Together, these events are celebrated as the “Easter” of St. Francis, commemorating his crossing over into sainthood and eternal life.
We all are called to be Easter people, living and ministering to one another in the joyful hope of the promise of the resurrection. By being part of our Franciscan family, my Capuchin brothers and I are praying for you on your journey.
Peace and all good,
Friar Mark Joseph Costello, OFM Cap.
Provincial Minister, Capuchin Franciscan Province of St. Joseph
